Auckland to Remain at Alert Level 4. Rest of the Country Stays at Level 2

Auckland will remain at COVID-19 Alert Level 4 while the rest of the country will remain at Alert Level 2.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Director General Health Dr. Ashley Bloomfield delivered their daily update. Cabinet met today to decide on today’s Alert Level decisions. Prime Minister Ardern says they will review the alert levels for Auckland next Tuesday 21st September.

There are currently 33 new community cases all in Auckland. 32 of the 33 cases reported today are epidemiologically linked. The one case yet to be linked is a person who presented to Middlemore Hospital on Saturday. There are seven others in their household. All seven are included in today’s 33.

The Ministry of Health continues to remind people across Auckland to get tested, especially in and around Massey, Favona, Henderson, Ōtara, Papatoetoe, Māngere, and Manurewa.
