Dunedin’s Reverend Alofa Lale Takes the Helm of Women’s Organisation P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. Inc.

President of the Dunedin Central Branch for P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. Inc. Reverend Alofa Lale has been elected as the new national President this evening. Rev. Lale takes over from Tofilau Bernadette Pereira who has been at the helm since 2017.

Pasifika women from across the country are in Christchurch this weekend for the annual Pacific Allied (Women) Inspires Faith In Ideals Concerning All (P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. Inc.) conference and annual general meeting.

The outgoing executive Tofilau Bernadette Pereira, Elizabeth McEwan (VP Northern Region), Alex Tino (VP Southern Region), Dr Aliitasi Su’a-Tavila (VP Central Region), Malia Tua’i Manuleleua (National Communications Officer) Rosi Brown (National Treasurer), Natalie Stolz ( Youth Rep), Marie Schmidt (Asst National Treasurer) Marie Laufiso ( National Secretary) were thanked for their tireless work over the past four years and their work during the COVID-19 pandemic.

P.A.C.I.F.I.C.A. was established in 1975 by Pasifika women living in New Zealand so that they could speak with one voice and be recognised as a force working for a more positive involvement of Pacific people in New Zealand society.
